The significance of the humidity for electronic components
Technological processes in the electronics industry are particularly sensitive to electrostatic charge. Low level of humidity increases the electrostatic charge in the area. It is proven, that humidity of 55% is sufficient to prevent discharges. High electrostatic charge attracts dust, while maintaining proper humidity prevents the accumulation of it on the surfaces. Therefore it also slows down the process of fan and heatsink clogging by the airborne dust.
Humidification is becoming increasingly popular as an economic and effective way to reduce the failure rate of computers working in server rooms, where a concentration of rack- mounted, high power devices, generating much heat, results in dramatic humidity reduction.
